The European companies suffer huge losses when imposing sanctions against Belarus and Russia. Businesses simply have to go along with the Western propaganda, although many were not ready to leave a large and promising market. This opinion was expressed by economist Alexander Dudchak. At the same time, the prices for energy carriers are growing in Europe, and the agriculture, at least due to the lack of potassium fertilizers, is not likely to have a rosy future. One gets the feeling that Washington is trying to deal a blow not only to the Union State, but also to weaken its economic and geopolitical rival, the European Union. So far, the United States is coping with this problem successfully.
Alexander Dudchak, political analyst and economist (Ukraine):
Europe's leading countries, once great powers, are demonstrating a complete lack of sovereignty. Their leadership acts contrary to the interests of their people and their economies. The energy prices are prohibitively expensive. This hits many industries. Almost all sectors of the economy are tied up - energy, chemicals, metallurgy. Metallurgical plants and chemical plants will close, and after that there will be a big problem in the agricultural sector, because with such prices for fertilizers and hydrocarbons, gas first of all, the food prices will grow. They will grow catastrophically.
What will happen in Europe in the near future? It's very interesting to look at this. They threatened with sanctions in electronics, that they will deny Russia deliveries of chips, components. But it's also an interesting question: how will they produce chips if they have to use gas like neon? And this gas is produced in Russia and Ukraine.
