Hockey fans arriving in Belarus

8 мая 2014

By Dmitry Smirnov: Since 25 April, when special corridors for the Ice Hockey Championship guests were opened, more than 200 fans have passed through the checkpoint Bruzgi on the Belarusian-Polish border. Many of them are dressed in the uniform of their national teams, chanting and carrying flags.

The guests don't need a visa to enter the country. The whole procedure at the checkpoints takes about 5 minutes, with no queues observed. During this time, volunteer interpreters manage to explain the route to Minsk using a map and answer any questions from the fans.

Andrei Zaitsev, head of the Bruzgi customs post: 216 citizens of Austria, Belgium, Germany and Poland have passed through the customs post Bruzgi. Customs registration procedure has been simplified and takes a maximum of 4 minutes.

According to experts, the highest number of hockey fans are expected to arrive from the Baltic and Scandinavian countries.
