The program of the Days of Minsk in St. Petersburg included dozens of meetings dedicated to social support, with young people, environmental issues and economic cooperation. St. Petersburg ranks fourth in Russia in terms of export from Minsk enterprises. Just last year, the trade turnover between the two cities was more than $ 650 million.
Georgy Poltavchenko, Governor of St. Petersburg (Russia): "Traditional links that have developed between our cities are really developing and have very good potential. The Days of Minsk in St. Petersburg will be an additional impulse and stimulus to the development of our good-neighborly, friendly relations mutually beneficial in economic terms."
Andrei Shorets, the Chairman of Minsk City Executive Committee: "We have a very large delegation, which includes not only the economic and social sector, but also representatives of health, social protection, education and youth. Therefore, the establishment of inter-regional relations is very effective. It brings, as a rule more useful results than some other forms of interaction."
And next year Minsk will host the Days of St. Petersburg.
