Punishment for minors to be cut by 2 years, and punishment for adults by a year

Today, deputies supported the bill on amnesty timed to the anniversary of the liberation of Belarus. The bill will also affect Article 328 of the Criminal Code: namely, those convicted of both use and distribution of drugs. But in each case, the decision on amnesty will be individual. The convict must have positive characteristics fr om the place, wh ere the sentence was served.

Amnesty comes into force after the official publication of the document. 

According to the Interior Ministry, the amnesty will affect about 6 thousand convicts. Officials charged with corruption will not be able to get free ahead of time, the minister specified.
