Deputies of all levels and members of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly adopted an appeal to the international community in connection with the situation around Belarus.
The authors of the appeal believe that instead of supporting and developing mutually beneficial cooperation, a number of states are actively contributing to the destabilization of the situation in the Republic of Belarus.
"A massive information aggression has been launched against us, aimed both at involving our citizens in destructive activities and committing a coup d'etat, and at forming an extremely negative image of the country in the international arena. Unprecedented and unjustified sanctions are being introduced. Political and economic pressure does not stop, but only increases. The declared goal is to promote the strengthening of democratic values and freedoms. However, the actual result is completely different, which is undermining the economic potential of our country and slowing down development."
Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus: We have more than 18 000 deputies of all levels, representatives of the people. We communicate a lot with people and feel that they are outraged by the injustice towards Belarus. After all, the main goal of state policy is the growth of people's well-being. Everything is done in Belarus to maintain peace, stability and tranquility in the country. But there are those who are trying to destroy labor collectives, enterprises, weaken the economy, and ultimately to deprive the country of statehood and sovereignty. It doesn't just bother us, but outrages us! That is why we all together have turned to the world community, we want to eliminate external pressure on Belarus!
Deputies and senators addressed the international community in connection with the situation around Belarus. The appeal calls on the world community to oppose the unjustified, counterproductive and discriminatory policy towards Belarus, to show solidarity with our country in upholding the right to sovereignty and peaceful life, to return to responsible and constructive interaction for the benefit of all countries and peoples.
