Day of Unity of Peoples of Belarus and Russia celebrated in two countries

The Treaty establishing the commonwealth of our states was signed 20 years ago by Alexander Lukashenko and Boris Yeltsin. Presidents Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin greeted the nations on the anniversary. The Day of Unity of Peoples of Belarus and Russia symbolizes centuries of common history and confirms the desire of our countries to build their future together.

Ivan Bambiza, Deputy State Secretary of the Union State: "Today, every Belarusian and Russian, I believe, does not feel a stranger in the territory of Belarus and Russia. This is the most important achievement of the 20th anniversary."

Yuri Vorobyov, deputy chairman of the Federation Council, the Hero of Russia: "The main task is to improve the lives of our people, build a strong economy, solve social issues. We must create conditions so that Russians and Belarusians could collaborate on issues of economy".
