12th Belarusian Antarctic Expedition launched

The Belarusian polar explorers announced their plans in the upcoming season. Just an hour ago, the National Academy of Sciences held official events for sending the 12th Belarusian Antarctic Expedition. Each participant is assigned tasks within his main specialties. A large volume of sampling natural materials will be carried out and a wide range of studies will be conducted. In addition, specialists will continue to build up the infrastructure of the base. Emphasis is placed on the commissioning of a satellite communications station, which will provide unlimited access to the Internet and reception of several television channels. The heated water supply system will be developed. And by the end of the season, the general cargo is expected to arrive: three sections of the Belarusian Antarctic station: residential, lab and surgery. One of the peculiarities will be the participation of three Belarusians in the related Bulgarian, Turkish and Russian expeditions. The 12th Belarusian Antarctic Expedition will consist of 10 people. The flight is scheduled for November 8.
