No references to sanctions: Lukashenko demands full provision of medicines

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko set the task to fully meet the needs of medicine in drugs and equipment during a visit to Chechersk Central District Hospital, BelTA informs.

The head of state was reported on the system of medical care in the regions affected by the Chernobyl accident, in particular, in Chechersk District.

According to Minister of Health Dmitry Pinevich, the health status of inhabitants of the affected regions does not differ from the national average. However, medical institutions in such regions are equipped with some special equipment, there is regular screening of people's health condition, which contributes to early detection and prevention. Moreover, as the minister noted, in the Chechersk District the residents have a very responsible attitude to annual check-ups, they come to the doctors themselves.

Special attention was paid to birth rate indicators. In recent years it has been consistently high in the district. A total of 171 children were born in 2021, which is higher than the regional average.

The President took interest in the provision of medicines and medical equipment and set a clear objective to make sure they are available in the required volume: "There should be no references to sanctions or anything else. The head of state was assured that the task is being fulfilled.

Alexander Lukashenko got familiar with the work of the x-ray room, the inter-district computer tomography room, the inter-district hemodialysis board, the operation room for minimally invasive surgery and the pediatric department. The President conversed with hospital staff and patients. Children undergoing treatment at the hospital received sweet gifts from the Head of State. Chechersk CDH has 99 beds, an outpatient clinic with 300 visits per shift, and the Nisimkovichi Nursing Hospital with 38 beds. The CDH also includes five general practitioner outpatient clinics. In total, the CDH serves 60 thousand people.

The hospital staff consists of about 430 employees. At the beginning of this year, a computer tomography room was opened in Chechersk CDH. Qualification of doctors and availability of special equipment allow the hospital to perform laparoscopic surgeries.
