By Yulia Grizunt: More than 50 Belarusian innovators gathered today to discuss new stem cell technologies. Now with the help of stem cells, hundreds of diseases can be cured - for example, brain injuries, diseases of the abdominal cavity and even multiple sclerosis. Besides, this is not the future of Belarusian medicine - it is its reality. New technologies are already being actively implemented.
New methods will allow treating thyroid insufficiency and diabetes. In addition, there are already first results on the control of multiple sclerosis. These are the achievements of the past three years. Medicine at the micro level has been developing in our country since the 1980s.
Today, stem cell technology is used in almost all medical spheres - they are a panacea for 300 diseases. A couple of years ago, Belarus was recognized internationally as an innovator in stem cell technologies. Then Belarus took the third place in the world - following China and New Zealand.
One of the breakthrough areas is the treatment of brain diseases. Stem cells are already used for recovery from head injuries.
More than 50 leading doctors from all over the country gathered to discuss innovations today. They discussed the use of stem cells for transplantation of large organs. This will save the parathyroid glands of patients. In other words, such a procedure will provide the most comfortable life after the most complicated operation.
