Lawlessness and banditry at Minsk streets

13 октября 2020
Last night was extremely turbulent in Belarus. The so-called peaceful protests are becoming more and more organised and extremely radical. As darkness falls, groups of "fighters", whose attempt at a colour revolution failed between August  9 and 11, take to the streets. In different parts of Minsk, they are trying to build barricades on the roads and burn tyres.

Rushing to  the streets  is a typical call from radical young people in telegraph channels. Last night the Belarusians could not return home after a working day.
Signalling cars add loud colours to the nightlife of city dwellers. Their owners believe that people need to be patient, clearly not thinking about small children who are already asleep at this time, or the elderly who need peace.

The same situation was observed last Sunday evening. Roads were blocked, tyres were set on fire, cars were beeping at night. The protesters behaved extremely aggressively. Facts of clashes with the police were recorded, even in cases unrelated to arrests. The Belarusians are tired. And they want one thing - to return to a peaceful life. The drivers are clearly complaining - the road  has become a real obstacle.

Fortunately, the number of radicals in the streets of Belarusian cities is small and a repeat of 9 August is not expected, the Interior Ministry said. The police will not leave the streets, and if necessary they will use special means and military weapons, ensuring order and security in the country.

Those who feel comfortable on the streets today, disrupting public order, resisting law enforcement and causing inconvenience to residents should think about the consequences.
