Appendicitis is a rare case in children of such age. In this case the laparoscopy was performed. The difficulty is also in postulating an accurate diagnosis - at this age it is extremely difficult.
Alexander Svirsky, head of the department of the Children's Surgery Center: "We diagnosed and prepared the child during 1.5-2 hours, prepared it for surgery because it was in a rather serious condition and therefore the preparation was held in the intensive care unit and it was operated through three small piercings, which helped us to find out the cause of peritonitis, that is, inflammation of the entire abdominal cavity."
Less than in two weeks the baby was released home. According to its mother, the child feels well.
