Belarusian Railways does not plan to raise the cost of its tickets. This was stated by Minister of Transport and Communications Alexei Lyakhnovich in the project "Question Number One". The price will not change so that the railway transport could compete with road carriers.
Alexei Lyakhnovich, Minister of Transport and Communications of Belarus:
“We are adding a train Vitebsk - Minsk - Vitebsk to the schedule, it will run on Fridays and Sundays. In addition, the train will run on pre-holidays and holidays. We are also opening two new routes Minsk - Minvody and Minsk - Nizhny Novgorod.”
These routes were cut during the Covid restrictions. The travel time to Nizhny Novgorod is two days, approximately the same time will take the travel to Mineralnye Vody. Now the possibility of direct air service between Minsk and Minvody is being considered. Russian resorts should become a popular destination for Belarusians. The flight is planned to open tentatively until the summer of 2024.
