Belarus is giving homage to its heroes. One year ago, military pilots Major Andrey Nichiporchik and Lieutenant Nikita Kukonenko performed their last flight. In the sky above Baranovichi, the remote control system of Yak-130 failed. The pilots found a tiny area free from residential buildings in order to prevent the plane from collapsing on residential buildings. And with professional precision they directed the almost uncontrolled plane exactly there. For their feat, the commander and pilot of the combat training air squadron, Nichiporchik and Kukonenko, were awarded the title "Hero of Belarus" posthumously. New streets in the city, which they saved at the cost of their lives, will be named after the dead pilots.
