By Nadezhda Serbinenko: The first group of schoolchildren from Damascus, Aleppo, and Latakia arrived a few days ago in the Zubrionok summer camp. In late May, Alexander Lukashenko signed an executive order about receiving children from different cities of Syria in Belarus.

Apart from activities in the open air at the lake, children from Syria will undergo a course of health-improving medical procedures. The list includes visiting a salt cave, as well as oxygen cocktails.

The first time a group of schoolchildren from Syria visited the Zubrionok summer camp was last summer. For one of them, a trip to Belarus literally became a salvation. Belarusian doctors operated one of the girls for a tumor. It was at the initiative of the Belarusian President that a programme was organized for rest and recreation of Syrian children on an ongoing basis.

The kids will spend 15 days in Zubrionok. After them, the next group of 150 children from Syria will arrive.
