Belarus celebrates Mother's Day!

14 октября 2022
Belarus celebrates Mother's Day, one of the most tender and touching holidays. The President congratulated all Belarusians on this holiday. A special word of gratitude to mothers with many children, women who bring up children with special needs and those who provide affection and homeliness to foster families. According to the National Statistical Committee, our country ranks 25th among 179 countries in the rating of the most comfortable countries for mothers. The average age of Belarusian women giving birth to the first child has gone up to almost 27 years. The words of gratitude, gifts and flowers in honor of our mothers - this is just a small part of how one can express his gratitude on this day!

Elena Bogdan, chairman of the Health Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee:

We should tell our employees, who are on maternity leave today, that we really want their children to grow up healthy and we are waiting for them in our working collectives so that we could continue to work together, provide medical care together. And, of course, we want none of our colleagues to forget about their mothers with many children these days. We must cherish each child and cherish the family.

Vitaly Luzhinsky, chief physician of the 4th Children's Clinical Hospital in Minsk:

We wanted to create such a holiday and give such a mood. So, we want to say thank you to them for being mothers.

Inna Kovaleva, mother of many children:

For me, this holiday is so bright. A holiday of love for the children, love for their mothers, grandmothers. It's really great, it's nice when your kids hug you, kiss you and say "Mommy, I love you." It's just inexpressible.

By the way, Parents' Love Week kicks off today. Next Friday, October 21, we will congratulate our dads with the holiday. Father's Day will be celebrated in Belarus for the first time.
