Belarus and Russia discuss increasing volumes of transit freight traffic

8 сентября 2021

Belarus is considering the possibility of expanding the list of goods to be transported through Russian ports, thus making use of the potential of railroads to deliver goods. This was stated today by Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko at a meeting with a delegation of Russian Railways. A positive example of cooperation is a transshipment of Belarusian oil products through Russian ports. In a short time, we managed to prepare a logistic scheme and at the same time to keep the economic feasibility for both countries.

Belarus is also interested in restoring the passenger flow by trains. From February of this year, a gradual restoration of traffic began.

Today Belarus and Russia are also discussing the development of promising transit potential on the China-Europe-China line, which is in demand in all directions.
