Belarus and Austria actively work on protection of fair competition within country

13 ноября 2019
Representatives of 15 countries spoke about creating fair conditions in Minsk today. The legislative base in this part is being replenished, and a competition development program is being developed in Belarus.

Memoranda of cooperation in the competition policy are able to improve the quality of products and to train manufacturers to work in conditions of fierce global competition.

Belarus will coordinate its positions in antitrust policy with Austria. The signed memorandum opened up new opportunities for the experience exchange between the countries. Cross-border cooperation is important today.

Theodor Tanner, Head of the Austrian Federal Competition Authority, claimed that memoranda will benefit the economics and consumers of both countries.

The same document was signed with Romania. The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade signed more than 10 foreign agreements.

Our Competition Development Program aims at reducing barriers and excessive state regulation. It was announced that the program is almost ready at the opening of the forum. The International Finance Corporation plans to invest up to $ 80 million per year. The index of development of competition in Belarus in such sectors as railway transport, insurance, energy, air transportation, gas supply and telecommunications will be announced at the end of December. These issues are now being discussed within the framework of the five EAEU.

The conference also highlighted the health care market and the medicines availability. The pilot project on reference pricing for onco and cardiac drugs in our country has shown that prices have decreased and suppliers have continue their work. The possibility of expanding the list is being discussed. Russian colleagues support that direction.

MART is currently preparing amendments to the law on state regulation of trade and a draft decree on countering monopolization in this area. Exporters are offered antitrust compliance. The conference will continue tomorrow. They will also talk about trademarks in the market of the Union State and the EAEU.
