Belarus takes another serious step in strengthening its statehood with the adoption of the law on the National Tax Service. This opinion was expressed by First Deputy Minister of Information Andrei Kuntsevich.
"Why has the draft law on the All-Belarusian People's Assembly caused such a nervous reaction of the runaway opposition and their foster media? In my opinion, the answer here is obvious: if this initiative is supported, Belarus will make another serious step towards strengthening its statehood and the foundations that will allow our society to respond even more effectively to the numerous geopolitical challenges and threats," said Andrei Kuntsevich.
"The majority of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly will be formed from civil society and deputies of all levels, no matter how anyone may try to dispute it today. It means that the value of the deputy mandate and the level of responsibility even when voting for deputies of village councils during the forthcoming election campaign increases manifold. In fact, thanks to the proposed mechanism for the formation of the ANS, the system of local councils of deputies (criticized by many and somewhere justly) receives a new impetus in its development and a real opportunity to influence the national agenda. Even countries with centuries-old democratic traditions do not have such a wide level of popular representation," stated Andrei Kuntsevich.
