Andreichenko: Only states, where government acts in the name of the people can survive today

2 ноября 2022
Today, only the countries where the power acts in the name of the people can survive.  This was stated by Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko at the seminar  "The legal basis for the formation and operation of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly. Improvement of election legislation" in Lida.

"The world has entered the era of severe turbulence. And today no one is able to predict the scenario of the events developing in the next decade,  moreover that the actions of the Western alliance defy any rational explanation. One thing is clear - there is no going back to the old ways. Global restructuring will affect absolutely all states, - says Vladimir Andreychenko. - In fact, it is already underway. We are witnessing the growth of sharp political, economic and social turmoil in the richest and, as it seemed, perfectly prosperous countries. And from all appearances, it is only going to get worse."

"Only those states where the authorities act on behalf of the people and in the name of the people, where public consent has been achieved, the continuity of generations and civil peace can overcome all these trials with minimal losses," said the speaker. - In fact, the All-Belarusian People's Assembly is designed to solve such problems. It has more than once helped the state to find adequate responses to the challenges of time and at least twice (in October 1996 and in February 2021) helped save the country from the abyss. That is why there is a firm conviction in the minds of the citizens of Belarus that the All-Belarusian People's Assembly is an effective democratic institute which needs to be given a constitutional status."

The draft laws "On Amendments to the Election Code of the Republic of Belarus" and "On the All-Belarusian People's Assembly" have been submitted for public discussion. The discussion of the draft law "On the All-Belarusian People's Assembly" is being organized by the House of Representatives. Deputies take an active part in the work of dialogue platforms of various levels, hold information meetings in labor collectives to explain the provisions of the draft laws. A total of about 140 such events have been held. The comments and suggestions of the participants of the public dialogue will be taken into account during the preparation of the draft law for the first reading at the current session of the House of Representatives. The discussion process will end today with a seminar-meeting in Lida.
