Medals dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Armed Forces of Belarus – for Heroes of the Soviet Union were presented today. The first to whom the memorable awards were conferred by the Minister of Defense, Andrei Ravkov, are honorary veterans Vasily Michurin and Ivan Kustov.
The gunner of the 271st motorized rifle regiment of the 17th motorized rifle division, Vasily Sergeevich Michurin is almost two years older than the Ministry of Defense itself. The commander of the rifle company of the 1052nd Infantry Regiment of the 301st Infantry Division, Ivan Ilyich Kustov, celebrates today his 94th birthday.
