"The use of nuclear weapons is unacceptable," Alexander Volfovich said following a Moscow meeting iof secretaries of security councils of CIS member states, noting that the consequences will be much more terrible than the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
"Today they speak more and more about the use of tactical nuclear weapons. It is inadmissible. And it does not matter whether it is tactical or strategic nuclear weapons. It will lead to irreversible consequences, to the death of civilization, there is no other way to say it," said Alexander Volfovich.
He noted that Belarus has been struggling with the consequences of the Chernobyl accident for 36 years, but the consequences of the use of nuclear weapons would be much worse. "What will happen if tactical nuclear weapons are really used? All of Europe will suffer, it will affect not only the territory of Russia, Ukraine or Belarus. This flame will break out and affect all of Europe, and maybe even more," said the Secretary of State of the Security Council.
