Alexander Lukashenko tells journalists about further plans for military cooperation with Russia

The military cooperation between Belarus and Russia is also getting stronger. This is proved by joint maneuvers.  The active phase of the strategic exercise Zapad-2021 is now underway. On September 12, the President viewed several episodes at Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground near Baranovichi, where the troops of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan demonstrated a defensive battle, use of aerial, missile troops and artillery and an air landing. Alexander Lukashenko also met with reporters. The Head of State spoke about his future plans for military cooperation with Russia. Belarus is planning to buy more than $1 billion worth of Russian arms. At one of the last meetings with Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin, the prospects of deliveries of C-400 complexes were also discussed.

Alexander Lukashenko also said that he would meet with the Russian leader more than once this year. Vladimir Putin will arrive in Minsk on October 15 for the CIS summit, where the leaders will discuss specific areas of bilateral cooperation. The leaders are expected to adopt 28 union programs at the meeting of the Supreme State Council.
