Today, Alexander Lukashenko encouraged the participants of the 6th All-Belarusian People's Assembly for an honest, open dialogue.
Speaking at the opening, the President noted: the decisions of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly will not be spontaneous and unexpected, since a lot of preparatory work was carried out before the forum began, including in the format of dialogue platforms.
People are turned to in order to discuss together and make a consolidated decision on the further development of our country and society. "Unity! Development! Independence!" are the main principles that have become the slogan of the current folk Veche.
The President also proposed to analyze the realities of our country. Among the issues are the future of foreign policy and working with foreign partners.
Preservation of the traditions and values accumulated over the centuries, which allow Belarusians to remain a nation, will be also discussed. There are many topics. The main reference point is expectations, aspirations, opportunities for the development of a modern person. And in his speech, Alexander Lukashenko dwelled on the most important fundamental points for the state.
Belarus is on the verge of fateful decisions, and we have something to rely on. We have retained our peacekeeping positions and established ourselves in the international arena. We occupy high places in the ranking of human development. The effectiveness of health care systems, the availability of education, according to these indicators, we are among the leaders in the post-Soviet space.
And there are vivid examples of the achievements behind which the work of millions of Belarusians are in many areas: from energy to heavy industry, ecology, security. But the country has undergone several shocks. And only a strong state can withstand them. Belarus will stand. Although sovereignty has been seriously challenged.
Belarus has many global initiatives. The President confirmed the unchanging role of the Belarusian state as a stable hub. There is a struggle going on to draw our country into the orbit of the influence of individual countries.
We continue to oppose confrontation in foreign policy and for equality and respect, we adhere to the concept of multi-vector. It is no coincidence that Belarus has come to the attention of major world players. Belarus is the last truly sovereign state in Europe, the Belarusian leader stressed.
Relations with the European Union are important for Belarus, but Russia remains the main strategic ally. The President remarked that peace in the region depends on the link between Belarus and Russia. The vital necessity in the development of cooperation with Russia is to create equal conditions for cooperation. Strengthening integration is in the Belarusian priorities.
The President also spoke on the West's sanctions against us. The opinion of the Belarusian leader: they have neither the political nor the moral right to tell our state how to live and rule the country.
The President was emotional. There are many vivid figurative expressions and epithets in his speech, especially concerning his position on issues of fundamental importance for Belarus: whether it be the foreign policy or even the upbringing of our youth and protecting them from destructive outside influence. And the audience repeatedly reacted to this with applause.
The speech set the vectors of future development in many areas of Belarusian life.
