While celebrating Easter this year Alexander Lukashenko went to the Cathedral of Sts. Cyril and Lavrentiy of Turov. The head of the state donated the Cross of Turov to the church. The relic was lost back in the 13th century due to a powerful earthquake that destroyed the church. Alexander Lukashenko emphasized the symbolism that on this holiday one of the most sacred relics of Belarus is returning home.
During the warm meeting with the parishioners, Alexander Lukashenko confessed that Turov is his favorite town. In general, such an event proves that Belarusians are peaceful and benevolent people who want to create and love in their native land.
