Victory Day is a great holiday that has become a symbol of courage and firmness, valor and sacrifice of millions of Soviet people, who bravely stood up to the attack of the barbaric and anti-human ideology of Nazism in June 1941 and won.
It is with these words that the President began his greetings to Belarusians
"Belarus remembers its heroes. Those, who fought selflessly on the fronts, risking their lives, struggled with the enemy in occupation, performed daily labor exploits on the home front, bringing the victorious year 1945 closer. We remember all the innocent victims of cynical experiments and monstrous cruelty of Hitler's executioners. And we won't tire of reminding, who actually put an end to the bloodiest war in the history of mankind. Through decades of peaceful life, the spring day of May 9 still echoes in the hearts of Belarusians with pain, pride and endless gratitude to the victors. Eternal glory to true heroes! We bow down before our dear veterans," the congratulatory message reads.
