8 августа 2021
The bridge across the Neman was opened in Grodno this week. Now it is the highest bridge in Belarus - 32.5 meters above the water. As he promised, the head of state arrived at the event. The solemn moment had to be postponed for a couple of weeks because of the strongest elements that struck the region. This bridge is a special pride, and this day will go down in the history of the country. It was doubly significant, as it was in time for the landmark date. The new bridge was a gift to the residents of the region on the anniversary of the liberation of the Grodno Region from the Nazi invaders. Initially, the bridge was a railway bridge and was built more than 40 years ago at the initiative of the military as a reserve facility. Now it is part of the new large ring around Grodno. The bridge is about 240 meters long and 17.5  meters wide. It has four automobile lanes.
