Everything is ready for the swimming season. Shore zones are equipped with signs that indicate safe places for swimming. Water Rescue Society employees work on the beaches daily and regularly go to inspect the water area. Paramedics and divers are on duty.
Artur Truscinski works as a diver and goes with a squad of rescuers to inspect the water area of Zaslavl reservoir.
Artur Trushinsky, a diver at Zaslavl-1 rescue station: "It is complicated to work not only in winter but also in summer. It is inconvenient to drag a drowning man onto the boat, especially with cylinders and cargo. That's why one or two people always help me."
The rescuers train on special areas marked on the surface by buoys. All actions are coordinated to a minute.
Looking for a person under water is not easy, especially in the summer, when the bottom vegetation is actively blooming.
According to the employees of the Water Rescue Society, dozens of operations are conducted per season.
Nikolai Klochkov, Head of Zaslavl-1 rescue station: "We have a fully ready team, which goes to the water area to save riders and surfers who did not cope with the control or those, who swim behind the buoys."
The medical staff provides first aid to the victim.
Olga Yakubovskaya, a nurse at Zaslavl-1 rescue station: "We immediately call the ambulance, before leaving. I do artificial respiration and indirect heart massage until the victim comes to his senses. If it doesn't happen, we pass the patient to the ambulance."
More than 10 people have already been rescued on the waters of Minsk and the Region. The organization’s employees advise paying special attention to children, who should stay under the supervision of their parents.
