The active phase of CSTO exercises continues in Kazakhstan. Matybulak training range hosted the military maneuvers during joint exercises Interaction 2022, Search and Echelon. They test the localization of an armed conflict in the Central Asian region. Within the framework of the exercises of the Collective Rapid Reaction Force, the units will also train the practical actions to protect against potential biological threats. The tasks are carried out against the general background of the operational situation.
The combined unit of radiation, chemical and biological defence and military medicine forces and equipment includes servicemen from Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. The total number of troops involved in the CSTO exercise includes more than 6,500 people and more than 850 pieces of military and special equipment, including aircraft, helicopters and drones.
