76 years of Khatyn tragedy. Belarus remembers mournful date

On March 22, 1943, the village of Khatyn was burned together with all the inhabitants.  In 26 years, a memorial was erected at the site of the tragedy and became a symbol of the memory of the civilian victims, the so-called "fire villages". Thousands of people visit it every year, not only from Belarus, but also from far abroad.

By tradition, a commemoration meeting will be held today at the memorial complex.
