Exactly 75 years ago, on March 19, 1944, the Soviet army liberated Ozarichi death camp. It was created at the forefront of the defense. Wehrmacht troops drove 50 thousand people into the forest swamps, and they, like a living shield, blocked their positions from the advancing units of the Red Army. They infected people with a disease that spread to the Soviet soldiers. At the international tribunal in Nuremberg, the crime in Ozarichi was called the Wehrmacht’s largest crime during the entire period of the Second World War. But this crime has not received international publicity.
