By Andrey Krivosheev: Today the National Library has become a platform for a large-scale socio-political dialogue. The 3rd Congress of the Republican Association Belaya Rus summed up the results of the five-year plan, outlined the further tasks in the work of the organization, and approved the program and the new edition of the charter. Head of Belteleradiocompany Gennady Davydko was elected the new chairman of Belaya Rus.

No socially significant event takes place without the participation of activists of Belaya Rus. There are more than 170,000 representatives of the organization across the country. It is the real nucleus of the healthy and constructive forces of our country. This was stated in the greeting of the Head of State. Alexander Lukashenko is convinced that the authority and role of Belaya Rus will continue to grow steadily.

The guidelines for the coming years are socio-economic, political and cultural development of the country, public control of reforms, the international agenda and the people's business.

Over the past 5 years, Belaya Rus organized and conducted hundreds of local and national initiatives, becoming a real civil platform and refuting the weak thesis of opponents about the underdevelopment of the civil society in Belarus.

The future work was planned at the 3rd Congress. There are many key initiatives. For example, civil examination of bills. Every socially significant project must pass through a filter of public interest. In fact, this has already worked with the pension reform and with the reform of housing and communal services.

Among the initiatives is patronage over small and medium-sized businesses. The union has all the levers to support and protect the people's business.
