33 anniversary of Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident commemorated

The world today remembers the victims of the Chernobyl accident. 33 years ago  a quarter of Belarus - was affected by radiation. These lands could simply disappear from the map of the country. But our people could overcome the consequences of disaster. During  33 years, the accents of Chernobyl programs have changed: from resettlement projects to the revival of some lands. In recent years the was an emphasis on development: the standard of living here should be the same as in other parts of the country.

4 years ago, the head of state signed Decree number 235. The document is aimed at the socio-economic development of the southeastern region of  Mogilev Region. Seven affected areas received a new impetus for development and rehabilitation with tax preferences for business. It became easier to build housing. Investors came to the region. The tension in the labor market disappear. And most importantly, people received another incentive not to leave their small homeland.
