The corresponding agreement was signed on-line today by the Minister of Education Igor Karpenko and the Head of the World Bank in Belarus Alex Kremer. Within the framework of the project for the modernization of higher education, they plan to create a modern educational environment in universities, introduce innovative approaches, and teaching technologies. It is also planned to create an interdisciplinary research center based on BSU. In total, 18 higher education institutions will participate in the modernization program.
Igor Karpenko, Minister of Education of Belarus: "An innovative educational and scientific infrastructure will be created, the corresponding laboratories, centers for training students of other universities, including those located in the regions. First of all, we will purchase equipment that will allow us to carry out scientific research and introduce these studies both in the educational process and commercialize their results for our economy".
The ministry also noted that in the near future a professional community of experts will be appear in our country, which will assess the quality of education.
