By Ilona Krasutskaya: The town of Alexandria on the banks of the Dnieper has hosted a great summer festival this weekend – Alexandria Gathers Friends.
Among the friends are Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland. The festival has become a good opportunity to get better acquainted with the cultural heritage of the neighbouring countries. For many years now, this small town has been hosting the festival, and this year, it has brought together over 120,000 people. Over 1,500 performers took part in the gala. These are famous performers and those who made their debut here.
Day 2 of the festival was dedicated to the Days of Culture of Ukraine. Among the events held were the Sorochyntsi Fair and the performance of the Equestrian Theatre.
Alexandria once again became an intermediate point in the tour of many stars and folk craftsmen. The next gig in their schedule is the International Arts Festival Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk 2018.
