By Olga Medved: In Vilnius, the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus presented the national ballet, based on the common historical events of the two countries – the era of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The choreographic poem "Vitovt" gathered more than 1,500 spectators on the largest Lithuanian stage – Siemens Arena.
Such an unusual venue was chosen for two reasons. Firstly, only Siemens Arena is big enough to house a stage that is about the size of that of the Bolshoi Theater. Secondly, the Arena has the greatest number of seats for all amateurs of ballet. By the way, the maximum price of tickets for a choreographic legend from Belarus reached sixty euros.
The Theatre brought to Vilnius tons of decoration. The central piece of the scenery alone – the head of the European bison – weighs over 2 centners.
The ballet troupe of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus was received with a storm of applause. After the performance, the performers came back on stage again and again. The next tour of the troupe is scheduled for the next week. In Mexico, the Theatre will present "The Swan Lake".
