By Marina Romanovskaya: This year’s International Art Festival Slavic Bazaar is expected to be attended by about 5,000 visitors. The official opening is scheduled for July 13, but the first solo concert will take place at the Summer Amphitheater tonight — singer Zara will perform accompanied by the Presidential Orchestra. Solo shows will also be presented by Valery Meladze, Grigory Leps, Stas Mikhailov and the band Splin. In total, the festival program includes about 130 events, an open-air picnic to take place in the city for the first time.
Hundreds of guests and participants have already arrived in Vitebsk. Volunteers and special information centers will help the visitors find their way around the city. Besides, free city tours are also available.
Belarus will be represented at the children's music contest by Maria Magilnaya. Performance order will be determined tonight following a draw.
The first competition day will be hosted by the Vitebsk concert hall tomorrow, this year’s jury to be chaired by Honored Artist of Russia, singer Varvara.
