By Olga Maslovskaya: Today is the first day of the children’s music contest as part of the Slavic Bazaar festival in Vitebsk. Last night, the contestants’ performance order was determined and the Summer Amphitheater hosted the first concert - a sold-out solo show by Zara, accompanied by the Presidential Orchestra of Belarus under Viktor Babarikin.
The Slavic Bazaar children’s music contest is taking place for the 15th time. For the first time, the winner will be announced before the official launch of the festival. The Grand Prix winner will have the opportunity to share the stage with famous artists in a gala concert during the festival opening. The competition will feature young vocalists from 21 countries. Belarusian contestant Maria Magilnaya will perform at number 16 on the first competition day and at number 9 on the second day.
The Summer Amphitheater is currently preparing for tonight’s solo concert by Grigory Leps. The venue will see a total of 18 concerts, some of them already sold out.
Today the Slavic Bazaar press center will host meetings with actress Nonna Grishaeva, who will perform in the play Judy tonight, and singer Zara.
Also today, the Art Museum will present an exhibition of original 18th-19th century belts and host the opening of the interactive exhibition Perfume Miracles.
