Today will see the launch of the 28th Ivan Sollertinsky International Music Festival. The official opening ceremony will traditionally take place on 3 December to mark the birthday of the famous Vitebsk-born musicologist. This year’s festival is dedicated to the 110th anniversary of another genius, Sollertinsky’s close friend Dmitri Shostakovich.
In addition to classical music concerts, the festival programme will include the photo exhibition Peripheral Vision by the famous composer’s grandson.
