Grand opening of Slavic Bazaar to take place in Vitebsk tomorrow

By Olga Medved: Music lovers from around the world are gathering in Vitebsk to attend tomorrow’s grand opening of the Slavic Bazaar Festival. Today, participants of the young performer contest are having vocal rehearsals in Minsk.

According to the competition rules, live performances on stage of the Summer Amphitheatre in Vitebsk will traditionally be accompanied by the legendary orchestra under maestro Mikhail Finberg.

This year, each of the 21 vocalists will perform three songs not exceeding four minutes.

Belarus will be represented by Alexei Gross.

Only 15 participants will advance to the final. The winners of the Grand Prix, the Lyre Award and a cash prize of 20,000 dollars will be selected by a professional jury chaired by People's Artist of Russia Valery Leontyev.
