National Library of Belarus receives rare volumes

By Daria Tarasova: On the occasion of the Day of Libraries the National Library of Belarus was presented rare books that date back to the 17-18th centuries.

The history of libraries of Belarus, the oldest of which is a library of Polotsk at St. Sophia Cathedral, began in the eleventh century. Today, the country has 9000 libraries including the most fantastic architectural building of the National Library of Belarus. The heritage of Belarus is being digitized and transferred to the audio. This evening quotes famous Belarusian classics came to life on the facade of the National Library. Statements in the form of graphic symbols can be observed until midnight.
