National Art Museum checking and restoring paintings from Russian Art Fund

3 апреля 2020
The lobby of the National Art Museum is filled with dimensional canvases. This is not another creative project, but a timely check of paintings from the Russian art fund. Such an audit is carried out every 2 years. The paintings of the 30-40s of the last century belong  to Yuon, Zhuravlev and Gerasimov. Not a single visitor to the National Art Museum has seen these works! The last time they were presented at the post-war exhibition of industry and socialism in the middle of the last century. They were deployed specifically to remove dust, take measurements and take photographs.

These paintings have to be stored on wooden tubes due to lack of space. It will be possible to appreciate the work of Soviet masters after the opening of the Museum Quarter.
