For the first time the National Art Museum will show the largest collection of works Ivan Aivazovsky in the post-Soviet space.
The artist is famous all over the world for his seascapes. One of the works of the master of the brush will be presented for the first time after a 10-year break, this is a picture of the "Storm on the Azov Sea". She is the biggest of the artist's works the canvas reaches three meters. The basis of the picture is the real story of the crew, who died during the storm with one surviving sailor.
Alexei Khoryak, Head of the National Art Museum of Belarus: "The chronology is pretty decent, almost the whole period of Aivazovsky's art is presented at our exhibition."
The exhibition is timed to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Aivazovsky. Each picture, included in the exposition, has the signature of the artist. Now the exhibition is in the process of installation. For the public, it will open on July 8.
