The original engravings of Rembrandt XVII-XVIII centuries arrived directly from Italy to Minsk. The last time the works of the Dutch painter were exhibited here 40 years ago. Today, 69 engravings of a famous master of light and shadow came into the halls of the National Art from the hands of a private collector. The best works of the master were divided into three blocks. These are religious subjects, genre scenes and portraits. Virtually all engravings are signed, the author's signature "Rembrandt" and the date are clearly seen.
Art historians have a version that Rembrandt himself visited the Belarusian lands at the invitation of the Radziwills to create a collection of portraits of the magnate family. Minsk museum funds may contain his paintings, although the authorship is not confirmed, but according to the stylistic features they are attributed to Rembrandt.
