Original Bible exhibited in Brest

A rare edition, which is considered a masterpiece of printing, was first exhibited in the museum. The Bible was published in 1563 by order of Prince Mikolai Radziwill "The Black". An ancient printing house worked on the territory of the modern Brest Fortress. At least 1000 copies were printed, but only 120 of them have survived to the present day. There was only part of the original Bible there until recently. Everyone can see the entire script now. The exhibit was placed in a special display case: durable glass protects the book from sunlight and a certain humidity and temperature no more than 20 °C are maintained. The original Bible was presented to the city by President Alexander Lukashenko as a gift for the Brest millennium.
