Brest became the first city in the regions of Belarus where the premiere of the sensational production Seven was held. This is a documentary theatrical play based on interviews with the family of outstanding women from different countries. These are the stories of real people who suffered from violence, persecution, and gender inequality.
Anna Levdanskaya, a Project Communication Specialist at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA):
"This is an international project and it is unique because it involves non-professional actors. This play has already been shown in Belarus for the first time and we always ask to involve people who have a certain authority, like well-known athletes, politicians, representatives of the press and the diplomatic corps."
The first show of the play Seven was held in Minsk three years ago. The organizer of the event was the United Nations Population Fund in Belarus. Ivan Pinigin, the director of the Yanka Kupala Theatre, was invited to work on the production. The play Seven has already been shown in 30 countries and is translated into 24 languages, including Belarusian.
