22 мая 2018

This year, the 27th Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk will host dozens of art exhibitions, theatrical productions, and outdoor entertainment. The Summer Amphitheater in Vitebsk alone will host 19 large-scale concerts. The most long-awaited event is, of course, the Pop Song Contest Vitebsk-2018. The participants from 21 countries have already been announced. For the first time, representatives of Egypt and Guinea will compete. The orchestra conducted by Mikhail Finberg has already written original music pieces for the contest. Sketches for the stage design are ready as well.

Alexander Sidorenko, the director of the International Arts Festival Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk: "The theme of the Small Motherland will be the title of the opening ceremony and in the opening concert it will be reflected in the repertoire of artists and the director's ideas. We have already started to create special performances for the opening show. For each performer, we are preparing an original video content. Original choreography is being worked out as well."

This year, the Arts Festival will celebrate several anniversaries. They include the 80th anniversary of the composer Igor Luchenok and the 70th anniversary of the People's Artist of Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine Alexander Morozov. The Summer Amphitheater in Vitebsk will celebrate its anniversary, too. The concert venue was built 30 years ago. The 27th Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk will be held on 12–16 July.
