Vitebsk in anticipation of Slavic Bazaar official opening ceremony

Vitebsk is in anticipation of the official opening of the 26th International Festival of Arts Slavic Bazaar. The ceremony will take place tonight, its TV version to be broadcast immediately after the Panorama program at 22:00 on the TV channels Belarus 1 and Belarus 24.

Today will mark the unveiling of Tamara Gverdtsiteli’s star. Besides, the jury will announce the winners of the children's vocal contest and the International Pop Song Performers Contest participants will hold a draw to determine their performance order in the semifinal.

Slavic Bazaar guests and participants are invited to attend puppet shows, exhibition projects and the street festival On Seven Winds. Today will also see the opening of an international press center. Representatives of over 100 mass media outlets are accredited to cover this year’s festival.

Yesterday, the Summer Amphitheater hosted the gala concert I Love the Festival, which featured performers from Belarus and Russia.

Today is a special day for the international children's music contest participants as the winners and Grand Prix laureates will be announced very soon.

At noon, a star of Tamara Gverdtsiteli, this year’s winner of the Belarusian President’s special award Through Art to Peace and Mutual Understanding, will be unveiled in the Star Square. Besides, the Star Square will host a draw for the International Pop Song Performers Contest semifinal, Belarus to be represented by Egor Sharankov.

The long-awaited event - the grand opening of Slavic Bazaar - will take place at the Summer Amphitheater this evening.
