Secrets of Nesvizh crypt studied

The church of God's body in Nesvizh, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is now in the process of restoration. The funds for restoration of the shrine are allocated from the republican and regional budgets. But there is a possibility of receiving funding from the European Union. 1.5 million Euros is planned to be spent on restoration of one of the largest generic tombs in Europe. The research work has already begun.

An application has been submitted for a European Cross-Border Cooperation grant. This is a bilateral Belarusian-Lithuanian project with two beneficiaries. From our side this is the department of ideological work, culture, youth affairs of the Nesvizh district executive committee that possesses the church according to the documents. The second beneficiary is a museum from the Lithuanian city of Kedainiai. The European Commission has not yet taken the final decision.
