Yulia Cherginets: The tenor of Bolshoi Theater Pavel Petrov soloist - Paul Petrov won at Moscow Classics, a competition of vocalists in memory of Muslim Magomayev. The young performer was also awarded a special scholarship by the Foundation of Vladimir Spivakov.
The bright tenor was noticed immediately and given major parties. Though he is still studying at the Belarusian Academy of Music, this is already his third season in Bolshoi Theater.
This year he also took gold at on the Open European Youth Delphic Games, special prize for the best performance at Stanislaw Moniuszko Contest in Minsk and a silver award in the competition of vocalists in Moscow. 15 performers from 9 countries took part in the final. Now the titled tenor is going to take part in the prestigious competitions in Estonia and Germany.
