Grand Prix winner at International Pop Song Performers Contest to be announced in Vitebsk

The Grand Prix winner of the 26th International Pop Song Performers Contest will be announced today in Vitebsk. Yesterday saw the second semifinal day held at the Summer Amphitheater, contestants from 15 countries performing world hits. Despite the fact that the absolute majority of the songs were in English, the singers had a chance to communicate with the public in their native languages. The representatives of Mexico and Colombia brightened up the show with their colorful authentic outfits.

Belarus’ Egor Sharankov performed a new interpretation of Queen’s immortal hit We Are the Champions, scoring 151 points following the two competition days. Ukrainian contestant Vlad Sytnik scored the same number of points.

Contest results will be summed up today at the festival’s closing ceremony.
